We just love it when something comes across our BodiMojo radar where we just want to stand tall and shout out, “Yes!”
Have you heard of the Kind Campaign? Founded by two college students who made it their mission to take a stand, stop the cattiness, and spread kindness, the campaign is an international movement striving to heal the hurtful effects of girl vs. girl “crime.”
We’re not talking about crimes like stealing, cheating, or underage drinking. We’re talking about girls hurting girls: talking behind each other’s backs; bullying; making up stories; excluding one another; judging. These actions hurt. Maybe you’re still recovering from something a friend did to you in the past or a current battle-of-the-girls happening at school. Or maybe you’re upset with yourself because you know you’ve hurt a fellow girl (by accident or even on purpose). It’s okay–brave even–to admit you’ve done so. We are all human.
The Kind Campaign offers a place for you to forgive and pledge to be kind. Never apologized for gossiping about a classmate? Left someone out of a group? Kept quiet when you should’ve defended someone? Fill out a Truth, Apology, or Pledge (T.A.P.) to let someone know you’re sorry or declare your kind intentions. You can keep it anonymous or mention the person you’d like to apologize to.
And don’t forget to forgive yourself. No one is perfect! As the campaign says, “We’ve all been the victim. Unfortunately, we’re also the cause. Help us change.” We’re in this thing together.
